I've referred this to our Public Works Department. When the staff has had a chance to respond I’ll post an update. Thanks for reporting.

Since the Public Works Department staff is investigating this issue, I'd like to note that this sidewalk issue is minor compared to some of the broken panels on the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Courtland Drive, and the 1200 block of Mordecai Drive.

In terms of an ADA accessibility issue, there are at least two sidewalk panels on the 1200 block of Courtland (between 1208 Courtland and 1214 Courtland, I believe) that have been pushed up to non-code compliant slopes, caused by tree roots. (This are particularly hazardous to walkers/joggers/etc. after dark.) I am not sure what the protocol is here, since remediation of this issue is potentially harmful to these large and invaluable deciduous shade trees.

We will ask them to check these areas as well.

There is not another option other than mounding over the roots as we did at 1208 and 1214 Courtland Drive. There are large Oak trees and the sidewalk in question is right beside the driveway. The only other option would be to cut down the healthy Oak trees which the City will not do, or remove all of the sidewalks (SW) on that side of street within that block since there is SW on the other side of the street. We have marked additional locations for repair in the 1200 block of Mordecai Dr. and 1300 block of Courtland Dr. Please provide specific addresses in the future. The actual repair time could be up to 18 months.
