A detailed description and photos of this issue were emailed directly to the CSS Sergeant in May 2021 and then again about two weeks ago. I haven't seen any progress, unfortunately, and in addition to all of the issues raised by others they are polluting our watershed.
It is loaded with homeless people back there. Early in the morning when I’m taking my kids to Wardlaw & Jesse Bethel they are out there in the morning cars are stopped in the middle of the street with people getting in and out to go back into the path. They are also behind a house on the corner of Hawkesbury and ascot a path behind their house. I see them pulling huge suitcases up in that path . They throw all kinds of trash out in the middle of the street. One lady is walking up and down with no shoes just socks Looking for her two dogs and cutting across the middle of the street almost Getting hit by the car is. The encampment back there is growing bigger and bigger I’ve been watching them do this for years and complaining They do go and move them out as soon as they leave they go right back up in there. Other day one old guy that I’ve been seeing going in and out of that hole for years I saw the ambulance come to get him out of there. The ambulance people had a hard time getting him out of the hole Because the gate is locked and they couldn’t get the truck back there. When they went back there to get the poor guy all those people came out and just started walking up and down the street waiting for them to leave. It is really sad they have taken over beautiful streets like Turner Parkway and especially Sonoma Street all those Large parking lot it’s like scary to go to the CVS, old rally’s, seafood city etc. i’ve never let my kids walk to school because I’m scared because there’s tons of them out there early in the morning like they’re waking up to get their coffee. One lady was in the bathroom at Wardlaw my granddaughter told me and I reported it. They have taken over the skate park and Hahn’s park as well. I’ll be glad when the governor do whatever he has planned for the homeless people soon as possible.
This is ridiculous! We’ve all been making complaints to the City for months now! The homeless encampment behind our house between the golf course and the JBHS baseball fields is unacceptable. It’s a public health issue, a safety issue, a mental health issue, etc. The issue has once again been assigned to a code enforcement officer. Unfortunately,
I have ZERO faith that the encampment will be dismantled and the homeless made to leave. BPD & City of Vallejo, PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG!
There is soooooo much garbage in that open area it’s horrible. There is a spicket for water on the pathway so they have access to free water. They are also making the coyotes more comfortable being around people/kids/pets. Please do something about this before the hill goes up in flames from their fires and disrespect for our livelihoods.
That explains something I saw the other day. I always see coyotes on the hill across the street from my house. They are far enough for me to run into the house. The other day as I was pulling up to my house I thought a deer ran across the street in front of me when I looked it was a coyote and he just went over and stood and was looking at me and then it was a bigger one over there. The strange part is I’ve never seen any coyotes on this side of the street where the houses are and I was wondering if they were trying to get the water or someone’s pet. Now I’m scared for my grandchildren to ride out front of the house.
